What To Expect

Day 1: Arrival In Srinagar

Your sacred journey to the Himalayas begins with your arrival in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir, known for its breathtaking landscapes and tranquil lakes. Upon arrival at Srinagar Airport, you will be comfortably transferred to your hotel based on the group size.

After check-in and some time to relax, the evening unfolds with a peaceful Shikara Ride on Dal Lake, offering a calm and scenic introduction to Kashmir’s natural beauty. As the wooden boat glides across the still waters, surrounded by mountains and traditional houseboats, the atmosphere sets the perfect tone for the spiritual journey ahead. The gentle breeze, reflection of the sky on the lake, and quiet surroundings create a soothing experience before the pilgrimage begins. Overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 2: Journey To Sonmarg - Gateway To The Sacred Himalayas

After breakfast, depart from Srinagar for Sonmarg, a picturesque valley located approximately 90 km away, with a scenic drive of around 4 hours through winding mountain roads and lush landscapes. Known as the “Meadow of Gold,” Sonmarg is surrounded by snow-covered peaks, alpine forests, and flowing rivers that create a serene and refreshing environment.

Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and spend time soaking in the natural beauty of the region. Travelers may choose to explore the area and opt for a Glacier Sleigh Ride (at own expense), which offers closer views of the snowy surroundings and mountainous terrain. The calm and spiritual atmosphere of Sonmarg prepares pilgrims mentally and physically for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. Overnight stay in Sonmarg.

Day 3 : Sacred Amarnath Yatra

This is the most spiritually significant day of the journey. Early in the morning, depart from Sonmarg and drive to Baltal, located about 15 km away, which serves as the base point for the Amarnath Yatra. From Baltal, pilgrims proceed towards the holy shrine through available modes such as trekking, horseback, palanquin, or helicopter (subject to availability and weather conditions, at additional cost).

The route leads through rugged Himalayan terrain and high-altitude landscapes, gradually bringing you closer to the sacred cave situated at approximately 14,500 feet above sea level. Upon reaching the holy shrine, pilgrims receive Darshan of the Sacred Amarnath Cave and Ice Shiva Lingam, a naturally formed ice stalagmite revered by devotees of Lord Shiva. After darshan and spiritual reflection, return to Baltal and drive back to Sonmarg for overnight stay.

Day 4 : Return To Srinagar - Gardens And Spiritual Landmarks

After breakfast, depart from Sonmarg and travel back to Srinagar through the scenic Himalayan route. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and prepare for a local sightseeing tour of the city’s historical and cultural landmarks. Visit the revered Shankaracharya Temple, situated on a hilltop and offering panoramic views of Srinagar and Dal Lake.

Continue to explore the beautifully designed Mughal-era gardens including Shalimar Garden, Nishat Garden, and Chashme Shahi Garden, each known for terraced lawns, fountains, and scenic mountain backdrops. In the evening, explore Srinagar Local Markets, where travellers can browse traditional Kashmiri handicrafts, dry fruits, and souvenirs. Overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 5 : Excursion To Gulmarg - Snow Views And Gondola Experience

After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Gulmarg, one of Kashmir’s most scenic hill destinations, located around 50 km from Srinagar. The drive takes you through lush valleys and mountain landscapes, leading to the famous meadow known for its panoramic views and cool climate.

Upon arrival, explore the region and take the Gulmarg Gondola Cable Car Ride to Khilanmarg/Snow Point (subject to availability and weather conditions, at additional cost), offering stunning views of snow-covered peaks and valleys. Visitors may also enjoy optional activities such as Horse Riding, Skiing, and Snow Sledge Rides (at own expense) depending on seasonal conditions. After spending quality time in Gulmarg, return to Srinagar by evening for overnight stay.

Day 6 : Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed towards Srinagar Airport or railway station for your onward journey back home. As the tour concludes, you leave with peaceful memories of Kashmir’s scenic beauty and the spiritual fulfilment of visiting the sacred Amarnath Shrine. Travelers are advised to reach the airport well in advance as per their flight schedule.
